Tower Lane Capital (TLC) is a real estate investment firm focused on acquiring multifamily properties in mature markets in the greater Los Angeles area. The Company believes success is highly correlated to property condition and specific locations within their submarket, and meaningful value can be unlocked by a seasoned investor with specific local knowledge, one with a well-developed track record of executing its business plan and a strong understanding of capital markets and financing. The key principals of TLC have lengthy experiences as executives managing debt and equity positions at the most highly regarded global financial management firms, including JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, and Natixis. They were involved in many large notable transactions and interfaced with owners, investors, and intermediaries across all sectors and capacities of commercial real estate nationally, with a specific focus in Los Angeles.
Prior to forming Tower Lane Capital, the founding partners operated under the name Rimrock Real Estate Ventures (“RREV”), which was formed in 2017 and has acquired 43 individual assets in California and Texas, has acted as an advisor on $2.0 billion of debt financing arrangements, primarily originated by CMBS and leveraged CRE finance companies. RREV retained subordinate debt positions to liquidate to private investors. In 2018, RREV then began acquiring self-managed equity positions and began operating under Tower Lane Capital in 2021.
Anthony Jaffe is CEO of Tower Lane Capitaland has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance and investment profession and has been involved in over $50 billion of commercial real estate transactions. He was most recently Managing Director and head of CMBS Origination for J.P. Morgan’s West Coast Office in Los Angeles. Previously, Mr. Jaffe was the head of CMBS Origination at Credit Suisse and Managing Director of Natixis Real Estate Capital. Before joining Natixis Real Estate Capital, Mr. Jaffe worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and was part of creating the premiere real estate finance company on Wall Street at the time. Additionally, he was one of the pioneering members of Nomura Capital, a leading real estate lender in the United States and a group credited with the application of securitization to commercial real estate finance. Mr. Jaffe is on the Board of Trustees for Park Century School in Los Angeles, a Philanthropy Honoree at UCLA, and the Founder of the Tom Drysdale Fellowship at NYU, where he received his bachelor’s degree. Mr. Jaffe is responsible for the oversight, strategic direction and investment strategy of the firm.
Michael Maltzman, a true Angelino, has proven himself a Los Angeles multifamily expert. Starting at an early age, Maltzman worked at multiple top-tier commercial companies, Starpoint Properties and 4-D Development, to name a few.
Upon graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Michael moved back to his hometown of Los Angeles to join the Jeff Louks team at Marcus and Millichap, specializing in Los Angeles Multifamily Investments. Michael spent three years gaining intimate knowledge of the market and participating in over $626 million in transactions.
Michael left brokerage to run Bold Partners in Los Angeles. In the three years at Bold Partners, Michael personally sourced over 50 value-add multifamily deals. Michael was able to take the lead in all aspects of implementing a true value-add business plan.
Currently, Michael is a partner at Tower Lane Capital, where he continues to hunt down the top-tier multifamily deals across Los Angeles.
Garrett Green is a founding principal with Tower Lane Capital and manages investment operations, including structuring, credit and underwriting analysis, acquisitions and execution. Prior Tower Lane Capital, Garrett worked in JP Morgan’s Structured Product Group responsible for origination operations in the west coast office. Garrett received his bachelor of science degree, MBA, and Masters of Real Estate Development from University of Southern California and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California.
